The overall objective for this visit is enabling students to link theoretical foundation with the proficiently practice by visit housing and building research center and practice the real challenges and the real projects in local context
The target group formulation included 30 students. The background of participants was diversified 15 student from architecture department and 15 student from civil engineering department from Suez Canal University under the collaboration of IMPAQT project
Phase 1 incorporated four sessions; the first one was a brief presentation about HBRC; introducing its role, while the second one included a presentation by the research institutes. The third and fourth sessions encompassed visiting HBRC library and Urban and Training institute (UTI) respectively.
Phase 2 Suez Canal University Students went to a visit to HBRC labs where the participants experienced the different tests and discussing different issues with experts, as well as observed the existing situation of the professional practice.
On Wednesday April 18, Suez canal University represented by both Prof. Dr. Essam Badran, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Dr. Shaimaa Mahmoud attended the UTW press conference that ECG held at the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association (EBA) to announce the launching of the 10th round of the University to Work (UTW) Program in presence of ECG Vice President and UTW Founder Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek, EBA Executive Director Mr. Mohamed Youssef, IMPAQT Project Coordinator Dr. Dina Shehayeb from Nile University, Parliamentarians Dr. Eng. Marianne Azzer, Mr. Ahmed Idris, Deans of the faculties of Engineering, representatives of the sponsor companies, as well as academic and media supporters.
ECG Vice President and UTW Founder Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek stated that ECG in collaboration with the Egyptian European Organization for Training & Development signed MOUs with Universities of Cairo, Helwan, Ain Shams, Suez Canal, Benha, British University, Chinese University, Russian University, Canadian University and Nile University as well.
Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek stated that through IMPAQT Project ECG, in Partnership with Nile University and Suez Canal, will try to introduce the UTW Program for Architects to be an integrated part of courses for Architecture Department as well as the Practicum course for students of Nile University.
